Interview with Victoria and her mom
From Victoria, LEGACY Daughter
Why did you decide to participate in the LEGACY Girls Study?
I wanted to help doctors and scientists gain knowledge about growing girls that are my age.
What has your experience been like participating in the LEGACY Girls Study so far? What is your favorite part of a LEGACY visit?
I like coming to LEGACY Girls Study because I like the experience and I like the gift cards, which happen to be my favorite part of a LEGACY visit.
Have you completed optical spectroscopy (OS, or the “light test”) at a LEGACY visit? If so, what did you think? Would you do it again? What would you say about it to another LEGACY girl that was considering it?
I have completed the light test and I thought that it was a little uncomfortable (getting undressed). I don't think that I would prefer to do the light test again, but I would if it would help doctors and scientists gain knowledge about growing girls.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy doing competitive gymnastics, and when I have free time around practice, I like to play with my dog Delta and read in comfy clothes in bed.
What is your favorite thing to do in the Bay Area or favorite place to visit in general, and why?
My favorite place to visit in the Bay area is Great America because I love roller coasters, arcade games, and water parks.
Do you have any pets? If so, what type and what is your pet’s name?
I have a dog and her name is Delta.
